Character Education

CVA K-8 believes that students are more than just test scores! We believe in the “whole child” by helping students develop a strong sense of self. Explicitly teaching monthly character traits help lead the students to an understanding that their behaviors, actions and words tell others stories about who they are and what they believe about themselves and the world around them.

Transportation

CVA is the only charter school in the Tri City areas that offers free bus transportation to their community!

Spanish

¿Hablas español?

Si no, ¿es importante aprender a hacerlo?

Students starting in kindergarten at CVA K-8 will be on a trajectory of learning enough of the Spanish language to be able to complete Spanish I by their 8th grade year. How exciting would it be for our CVA K-8 students to head to high school with an ability to possibly move into Spanish II in 9th grade?!

Buddy Time

When one of your school’s core values is COMMUNITY, then we MUST spend time building connections and common ground with others that strengthen the community throughout the building. These relationships can build confidence in students and can also foster crucial socialization skills that can be lacking in some students. Buddy programs are an effective way to help encourage a positive, sibling/mentor-like relationship between students of different ages to instill social and emotional learning.
